In Nigeria, thousands of accidents happen every year and many people suffer from diabetes and by birth amputation. There are not many facilities that provide good prosthetic limbs at a reasonable cost.

Ishk Limb Centre was established in 2009 in Nigeria Lagos under Ishk Tolaram Foundation to tackle the situation of amputees in the country. Since 2009, they have done 66 camps in various states in Nigeria, 16059 lives have been impacted and 16965 free artificial limbs have been given successfully. The center makes custom made artificial limbs using Jaipur Foot technology.

It is a great experience visiting Ishk Limb Centre. I could see the amputees coming in the morning with a little fear and hope. They used walker, crutches, or some other support to reach to the Centre, but after fitment and getting trained by the professional technician's team, they could stand and walk by themselves. I cannot explain the joy and happiness I saw on their faces. It is one of the best ways to give back to the community and bring back joy and happiness in people's life. You can visit their official website at www.ishktolaram.com. This visit has impacted me immensely and I changed me as a person. I too would want to do something for the differently abled and bring a smile on their face, someday.
